How It Works
Seven data sources. Five AI agents.
One standardised report.
Manual supplier assessments take 2-4 hours per company and vary in quality between analysts. Assayed automates the entire qualitative research layer in under two minutes.
Assessment Pipeline
From search to report in under two minutes
Search company
InstantEnter a company name or Companies House number. Assayed identifies the entity and prepares the assessment.
Structured data collection
10-15 secondsCompanies House API returns the company profile, officers, persons with significant control, charges, and filing history. T2A delivers the credit report: score, limit, CCJs, payment behaviour, and financial accounts.
AI research agents
20-40 seconds, in parallelFive specialised agents investigate news coverage, director track records, legal proceedings, public contract history, and financial trends. All agents run simultaneously.
AI synthesis and scoring
10-15 secondsGemini synthesises all findings into a composite risk score across six weighted dimensions. Every statement is constrained to evidence collected by the research agents.
Report generation
5 secondsA standardised 10-section report is produced with risk factors, positive indicators, dimension scores, and full source citations. Available as HTML and downloadable PDF.
Total elapsed time: under 2 minutes

Methodology
Transparent, auditable risk scoring
Assayed produces a composite score from 0 to 100 across six weighted dimensions. The methodology is published in every report so procurement teams can defend their assessments under audit.
| Dimension | Weight | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Financial Health | 30% | Credit score, revenue, profitability, net assets, payment behaviour |
| Legal & Compliance | 20% | CCJs, winding-up petitions, charges, insolvency events, Gazette notices |
| Director Risk | 15% | Dissolved companies, disqualifications, cross-directorship patterns |
| News Sentiment | 15% | Media coverage volume, sentiment trend, key events and controversies |
| Contract Track Record | 10% | Public contract count, total value, sector coverage, delivery history |
| Company Fundamentals | 10% | Company age, filing compliance, ownership structure, SIC codes |
Risk Levels
Report Structure
10 sections. Same structure every time.
Every assessment follows the same 10-section format regardless of company size, sector, or risk level. Consistency across assessments means procurement officers compare suppliers on an equal basis.
Company Overview
Registration details, incorporation date, registered address, SIC codes, ownership structure
Financial Health
Revenue, profitability, net assets, working capital, three-year trends
Credit Analysis
Credit score, credit limit, CCJ history, payment behaviour score
Directors & Governance
Director profiles, other appointments, dissolved companies, disqualification checks
News & Media Sentiment
Coverage volume, sentiment analysis, key events, reputational signals
Legal & Compliance
Gazette notices, charges, insolvency events, regulatory actions
Public Contract History
Contract count, total value, sectors, delivery evidence
Risk Assessment Matrix
Composite score, six-dimension breakdown with individual scores and weights
Risk Factors & Positive Indicators
Categorised findings with severity ratings and supporting evidence
Methodology & Sources
Data sources used, confidence levels, assessment parameters, model version
Graceful degradation
If a data source is unavailable or an agent fails, the assessment still completes with available data. Missing dimensions default to a neutral score of 50 with reduced confidence, clearly flagged in the report. Procurement teams are never blocked by a single failed API.
Every report is delivered. Partial data is documented transparently, not hidden.
Security
Built for public sector requirements
Encryption
All data encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Assessment data stored in isolated, encrypted database rows.
Multi-tenant isolation
Row-level security ensures organisations can only access their own assessments. No cross-tenant data leakage.
UK GDPR compliant
Data processed and stored within UK-compliant infrastructure. Privacy policy published and maintained.
Data retention
Assessment data retained for 2 years after account closure. Deleted on request.
Audit trail
Every assessment records who requested it, when, and which data sources were consulted. Full provenance chain.
SOC 2 (in progress)
Working toward SOC 2 Type II certification for enterprise procurement teams requiring formal compliance evidence.
The gap
Why not just use a credit report?
Credit report tells you
- Credit score and credit limit
- CCJ history and payment behaviour
- Financial summary from filed accounts
Credit report does not tell you
- Last month's winding-up petition in The Gazette
- The director disqualified twice at other companies
- Negative press coverage from the last quarter
- Whether the company has ever delivered a public contract
- Whether profitability is improving or deteriorating
Assayed fills the qualitative research gap. Credit reports provide the financial data layer. Assayed automates the qualitative investigation that procurement analysts perform manually. The two work together.
